Description: AAAAThis resource provides info. and links to digital storytelling resources and tools for creating authentic digital stories (such as Photostory 3, Storybird, Tikatok and Voicethread). Participants will also explore important fair use and Creative Commons considerations in using images and other contextual material used in the creation of digital stories. Other resources will be shared through a wiki including digital storytelling social networking groups and screencasting as a recording and documentation tool.
Prerequisites for Participants:
This session will be geared towards teachers that are new to digital storytelling although all participants are welcome.
All participants should have a wikispaces.com user name and password. They will also need to join this wiki prior to our session as they will be uploading their work samples there: http://tellingdigitalstories.wikispaces.com/
What should participants bring to the workshop?
Participants should bring at least 10 pictures (in the form of .jpgs) that they would like to use to create their story. These photos can be related to student work, their classroom a particular assignment or something else of interest. We will also be navigating the internet and gathering free or Creative Commons resources also.
An optional external microphone for recording is suggested but not required.

Participants will explore digital storytelling resources for educators and create a sample digital story using Photostory 3.
Participants will explore copyright and fair use issues associated with creating stories in the classroom.
Participants will upload their digital stories to the wiki.
